James Kent is the youngest son of Paris Anderson. He is the younger brother of Adam Kent and younger half-brother of Aaron Warner. He is 10 years old at the time of the novel.
James is a sweet and innocent boy who lives in the same sector as Juliette and Adam. He is initially shy around Juliette, but he quickly warms up to her and becomes her friend. James is very protective of Juliette, and he often stands up for her when others are bullying her.
In Shatter Me, James is taken captive by The Reestablishment along with Juliette and Adam. He is tortured and experimented on by the scientists there, but he never gives up hope. In the end, he is rescued by Juliette and Adam, and he returns home to his family.
